Ben is a vocal studies professor at the Royal College of Music in London (click here for information). He also has a busy private studio in London and is happy to advise or teach anyone looking for help with their voice. He has become a much sort after teacher in recent years, many of his students enjoy international careers and several are now in Young Artist Programmes around Europe (most recently in London's Royal Opera House, Munich, Dresden, Stuttgart and Luzern). He has had four singers reach the Kathleen Ferrier Finals (and win prizes) in both 2024 (second prize) and 2025 (first prize). Since 2014 he has run his own Young Artist Programme at the Southrepps Festival, where he works with conductor Tom Primrose and guest teachers each year.
A student of the late Welsh tenor and teacher Jeffrey Talbot, he is passionate to continue his legacy so that the technical information that can elude so many is available and that the principals of the 'Bel Canto' school continue to thrive. He gives regular masterclasses across the country and Europe.
